Internal Link Administrator- Tshwane


POSITION STATEMENT

A Link Administrators, my primary responsibility is to oversee the management and maintenance of fiber optic connections within a network infrastructure and new link Provisioning. This involves ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of fiber optic links, which are crucial for high-speed data transmission. Tasks such as monitoring network traffic, troubleshooting connectivity issues, optimizing link performance, and implementing security measures to safeguard data integrity. The goal is to ensure uninterrupted and efficient communication across the network while adhering to industry standards and best practices in fiber optic technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Follow Billing Process
  • Operate within set project budget.
  • Support the Financial Department by submitting all required documentation.

BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT GOVERNANCE

  • Abide by the set time frames and link schedule
  • Adhere to Company policies and departmental procedures OPERATIONAL
  • Verify data integrity of route and splice labelling on photo templates
  • Updating SI’s to match as built documentation from photo templates
  • Upload verified Information to DFA CRM database and Quick Base
  • Liaise with optical planners to ensure data integrity
  • Effectively support Link Manager by providing administrative support
  • Arrange appointments for Link Build and DPC Teams
  • Assist Splicers with Link Build information
  • Vehicle and Tool requirement oversight/ co-ordination
  • Update ATP Reports upon link completion
  • Compile CPE Reports upon link completion
  • Maintain and update Link Build Schedule
  • Resource Time-Sheet Management
  • Update GPON information after completion
  • Arrange floating as per link requirements
  • Support floating teams
  • Update floating completion pack
  • Arrange quotes and POs for floating
  • Arrange invoicing for floating

Skills & Knowledge

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience of working in a telecommunication industry is an added advantage

Qualifications & Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications industry
  • Must be computer literate
  • Knowledge MS Office software package, Google Earth
  • Knowledge of CRM and Quick Base
  • Understanding of fibre testing methodology
